Deacon Julius Copeland age 95 went home to be with the Lord Monday morning July 31, 2017 at his residence in Smithfield, NC. Julius Copeland was born December 1, 1921 in Asheville, Florida, his parents now deceased were Sylvester and Mary Copeland. He completed the 6 th grade which was highest educational level available.

Mr. Copeland served honorably in the U.S. Army. After his tour of duty in WWII he returned to the states and worked many years in the Garment District of New York City. While in New York City he married the former Mildred Davis. He later worked as an Ambulance driver for 11 years. After retiring as an Ambulance driver, he moved to North Carolina and worked for 12 years as a Civil Service worker at Cherry Point Army Base. He finally retired in 1984. He continued his working for the Lord and farming. Mr. Copeland was an Ordained Deacon at the First Missionary Baptist Church in Wilson's Mills NC.

Mr. Copeland was predeceased by his parents Sylvester and Mary Copeland, wife Mildred Davis Copeland, four brothers; Sylvestor Copeland Jr., Cornellius Copeland, Ernest Copeland, and Thomas Copeland. He leaves to cherish his memories one son; Shariff Robinson, two daughters; Loretta Davis, Yvonne Robinson, nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, one great great-grand, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services for Deacon Julius Copeland are planned for Monday August 7, 2017 at First Missionary Baptist Church 40 Durant Rd., Wilson's Mills NC viewing will begin at 11:00 am followed by eulogistic services at 12 noon.
