Evelyn T. Saunders, The Colony, Texas beloved wife of Eugene "Gene" Saunders who was born and raised in Smithfield NC, left us peacefully on February 14, 2017. She was born to Ethel Wilkins Winzie and George Winzie in Washington DC on July 27, 1925 and attended DC Public Schools. She leaves to mourn her daughter, Beverly Saunders of Upper Marlboro, MD; son Robert Saunders of The Colony, TX, her granddaughter, Chuntae Saunders-Hunter of Coppell, TX, great-grandson Jemir Hunter of Okinawa Japan, great- granddaughter Jalah Hunter, of Coppell, TX.

Graveside services for Mrs. Saunders will be held Monday February 27, 2017 at the Hood Family Cemetery located on Highway 210 West Smithfield, NC at 2:00pm.
