Mr. Bobby G. Smith was born May 12, 1938 to the late Johns and Emma Smith. Bobby departed this life January 13, 2017 while a resident at Barbour Court Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Smithfield, NC.

Bobby received his education at Forest Hills School in Four Oaks, NC. He joined Wesley Chapel Church at an early age and loved to sing in the choir. Bobby worked many years for Carolina Packers, The Neuse State Company and various other jobs in Johnston County. He loved fishing, singing and spending time with his family and friends. Bobby loved his children, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and cousins the bond he shared with his children was unbreakable.

He was preceded in death by his son Bobby Smith, Jr., 4 brothers Raymond Sanders, John Willie, John Albert, Leroy Smith, 2 sisters; Ethel Jones and Eunice Watson.

Bobby leaves to cherish his memories 8 children; Steufaria Byrd, Bobby Byrd(Shaunda), Josephine "Josie" Byrd, Arivia "Reba" Smith, Donald Smith, Antonio Smith, Trevon Smith, Jermaine Bristow, 24 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 1 brother Amos Smith of Clayton, NC, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Services for Mr. Smith will be held Wednesday January 18th 2:00pm at Wesley Chapel AME Church, 867 Cleveland Rd Smithfield, NC. Viewing and visitation will be held Tuesday Jan 17th at the Walter Sanders Funeral Home 302 S. Bright Leaf Blvd. Smithfield from 5 until 8 pm.
