Mr. James A. Barnes
James Arron Barnes was born in Johnston County on July 24, 1935. He was the son of Harry and Mahallie Barnes. James departed this world on Monday August 19, 2024.
He was educated in Johnston County Public Schools. James was married to Helen Barnes.
He is survived by his wife Helen Barnes, four sons, Warren Barnes (Brenda), Ralph Barnes (Angie), Courtney Hart (LaShonda), Reginald Barnes (Cassandra), a number of grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Before retirement, James worked as a bus driver for JCPS and JCATS.
In Lieu of Fresh cut flowers the family request Potted Green Plants be given.

Message: Sorry to have heard about the passing of, Elder Barnes. I will miss that smile of his whenever we saw each other and he would always ask me about how my family was doing. He would stop by the house from time to time, mostly to talk to my husband or look a game with him, if one was on. He had developed a close relationship with my daughter and her family and they thought a lot of him. He was a man that really loved God and his family.
