Mr. James David Lassiter passed away quietly on Tuesday January 29, 2019 after a lengthy illness at Johnston Medical Center Smithfield, NC. James was born to the late Sam and Unita Lassiter on March 18, 1944. He was educated in the Johnston County Public School System. After school he relocated to New York, and began a career as a truck driver. James also worked as a skilled carpenter.

Mr. Lassiter leaves to mourn his absence, one daughter Shauntea, four sisters; Arlethia Jackson, Mattie Broadie, Mary Barfield, Joyce Lassiter, one sister in law Marilyn Broadie, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Memorial services for Mr. James D. Lassiter will be held Saturday February 2, 2019 at the Walter Sanders Funeral & Cremation Services Chapel 302 S. Bright Leaf Blvd., Smithfield, NC 27577 starting at 1:00 pm.
