Mr. John Tinsley Jr., age 81 of Selma, NC passed away quietly at his residence on the morning of Thursday March 29, 2018. Mr. Tinsley was born in Johnston County, NC on October 15, 1936 and raised by his mother Nancy Brown Tinsley.
Mr. Tinlsey worked for many years with Burlington Industries until his health started to decline.
Mr. Tinsley leaves to cherish his memories his wife Lenner Tinsley of the home, five children; Pam McCray, Charlie Tinsley, Sharwan Tinsley, Carl Coleman, Tessa Tinsley, two sisters Nellie King, Elsie Norman, a host of other relatives and friends.
Arrangements are as follows; Walk-thru viewing Wednesday April 4th from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the Walter Sanders Funeral Home Chapel 302 S. Bright Leaf Blvd., Smithfield, Funeral Services will be held Thursday April 5th at Salvation Deliverance Temple Holy Church, Inc. 420 E. Market St., Smithfield viewing from 11:00 am till 12:00 noon, Funeral Services begin at 12:00 noon.

*Message: Death is the one thing that we cannot get rid of it affects all of us in one way or another. It is with the deepest sympathy and heartfelt sadness that I am sending you these thoughts. The hope of the resurrection is what I keep in mind because I have lost loved ones in death. The bible gives us a wonderful hope at John 5:28,29 to see those ones who have died. Sometimes we may feel that you will never be able to get over death, you will. And as the Psalmist says at Psalms 46:1 Jehovah is our strength, refuge and a help in the time of distress.
