Mr. Ralph Junious “Catfish” Jones Jr., was born May 30, 1952 to Ralph Jones Sr. and Ethel Mae Jones in Johnston County NC . Mr. Jones transition at his home on July 7, 2018.

Ralph was a member of the first graduating class of Smithfield-Selma Sr. High School in 1970. In 1972 Ralph was united in marriage to Brenda Dunston and began a career in the US Army. His military service took Ralph and his family all over the world. Ralph served his country faithfully for over twenty years. During those years he completed two tours in Korea and Desert Storm. In 1993, Ralph decided to retire from military life with full military honors.

Some of Ralph’s favorite hobbies and pastimes were fishing, playing pool, and family gatherings.

Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, the late Ralph and Ethel Mae Jones. He leaves to cherish his memory, wife Brenda Jones, four children; Anthony Dunston wife Melissa, Sharon Jones, Calvin Jones wife Charnise, Keitha Brooks, twelve grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, four loving sisters; Ava Dunston husband Linwood, Ethel Stancil husband Edward, Brenda Baker, Eleanor Jones, and one beloved brother; Bernard Jones wife Rose. He loved his family and none more so than the host of nieces and nephews, whom he considered as his own. He also, enjoyed the company of his special friends/Army comrades King Floyd and Oscar Cherry.

Services for Mr. Jones will be held Sunday July 15, 2018 at New Generation Christian Church 4423 Wilsons Mills Rd beginning at 2:00pm. There will be a viewing from 1:00pm until 2:00pm prior to the funeral services.
