Mr. Richard Jones Jr. age 82 of Raleigh, NC deceased on Wednesday Feb. 1 at The VA Medical Center, Durham, NC.

Mr. Jones Jr. was born in Bracey, Va Mar. 24, 1934 to the late Richard and Mahalia Jones Sr.

Mr. Jones served his country as an airman in the US Air Force. Upon completion of his service he returned to New York and later moved to Durham, NC where he met his wife Doris.

Surviving Mr. Jones is his wife Doris B. Jones, four sons; Lavoris B. Jones, Richard D. Jones, Jafar Muhibullah, Timothy L. Jones, and one daughter Vernesa L. Jones. He also leaves two brothers Bobby and Danny Jones and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services for Mr. Richard Jones Jr. will be held Thursday Feb. 9, 2017 in the Walter Sanders Funeral Home Chapel 302 S. Bright Leaf Blvd. Smithfield, NC at 12:00 noon, viewing/visitation will start at 11:00am. Interment will take place at the Eastern North Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, Goldsboro, NC.
