We regret to inform you of the passing of Mr. William "Tank" Jones, Jr. age 69 of Smithfield, NC. Tank passed suddenly on Sunday Dec. 6th at Johnston Medical Center Smithfield.

He was born to the late William Otis and Ermine Jones Nov. 11, 1946 in Wake County, NC. Tank completed his education at Richard B. Harrison High School in 1965.

Tank is survived by his wife, Evelyn Jones of the home, three children Ashely Messer, Thomas Wheeler, Robbie Wheeler, two sisters; Joyce Johnson, Betty Jones and one brother who predeceased him Leon Jones.

Funeral Services for Mr. William "Tank" Jones will be held in the Walter Sanders Funeral Home Chapel 302 S. Bright Leaf Blvd. Smithfield, NC on Sat. Dec 12th, viewing beginning at 11:00am and a celebration of life beginning at 12 noon.
