Mrs. Frances Missouri Futrell Murrell, age 91 formerly of Smithfield, NC transitioned from her earthly to heavenly reward on Friday February 16th at the Duke University Medical Center in Durham, NC. Mrs. Murrell was the daughter of William Hezekia Futrell and Missouri Watson Futrell both born July 11, 1926 in Johnston County, NC. Frances attended and graduated from Johnston County Training School. She worked for over 30 years for the State of North Carolina as a nurse with O'berry Center in Goldsboro, NC and retired. Frances married Austin C. Murrell, and was a proud mother to both Frances "Teenia" Murrell-Lunsford (Michael) and James Murrell (Doris); Grand-mother to Candice Hunter-McCaskill (Terrell) Marcus Murrell, Yolana Murrell-Jones (Brant) and Gayle Murrell.
Services for Mrs. Murrell will be held Saturday February 24th at the St. Mark AME Church 409 Bridge St. Smithfield, NC. starting at 11:00 am followed by eulogistic services at 12:00 noon. The family will receive friends Friday evening February 23rd from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at The Walter Sanders Funeral Chapel, 302 S. Bright Leaf Blvd., Smithfield.

*Message: I to have lost loved ones near and dear to my heart. The pain feels so overwhelming that we don't think we can survive. For me the bible was my lifeline I remember that Jehovah is my strength, my refuge and helper in a time of distress. But most of all I remember John 5:28,29 and as you read this hope know that this is a promise from Jehovah and he cannot lie . Sow can depend on his words being faithful and true.
