Mrs. Jessie Mae Terry Thorpe, age 92 of Clayton, NC passed away Monday April 12, 2021 at her Clayton, NC residence. Mrs. Jessie was born February 12, 1929 in Johnston County her parents were Kelly Terry Sr., and Hattie Blake Terry both deceased.
Mrs. Thorpe attended William Masonry School. She worked for many years at Jessie Jones, Watson Seafood, and Champion Products and concluded her work at The House Retirement Center.
Mrs. Thorpe was a devoted mother, sister, aunt, and loving grandmother. She is survived by her children; Gene Robert Thorpe (Joann), Jessie Thorpe Holliday (Gene), Cornelia Ellen Thorpe, Douglas Terry (Constance), her sister Hattie Pearl Powell and goddaughter Linda Faye Lambert.
She worked tireless to the end when she gained her wings.
Viewing for Mrs. Thorpe is scheduled for Friday April 16, 2021 at the Walter Sanders Funeral & Cremation 302 S. Bright Leaf Blvd., Smithfield, NC from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm.
Graveside services are Saturday April 17, 2021 at Forest Hills Cemetery Clayton, NC Little Creek Church Rd., Clayton, NC at 11:00 am. Live stream via our Facebook page (Walter Sanders Funeral & Cremation Services) will start at 10:15 am).
