Mrs. Mary Ann Sanders Reed
Mary Ann Sanders Reed was born October 8, 1943, in Johnston County, NC. She was the daughter of the late Arthur Sanders Sr., and Nezzie Walden Sanders. Mary departed this world on Saturday April 5, 2025, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro, NC.
Mary "Pooh Pooh" Reed attended and graduated from Johnston County Training School, Smithfield, NC. She worked and retired from Johnston Memorial Hospital, Smithfield, NC. After a short while Mary began a career in assisting others as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
Mary was preceded in death by her parents Arthur Sanders Sr., and Nezzie Walden Sanders, sisters, Joelyn Watson, Rochelle Atkinson, and brother Arthur Sanders Jr.
Mary leaves to cherish her memories her sons, Ulysses S. "Joe" Reed III, and Anthony J. Reed, grandchildren, Gabrel Walker, Nye Reed, Antonio Reed, Dajion Reed and Shaquille Reed, sisters, Marietta Clark and Leola Watson, a host of other relatives and friends.
Arrangements:
Funeral Services: Sunday Apil 13, 2025, at 1:00 pm at the Walter Sanders Funeral & Cremations Chapel 302 S. Bright Leaf Blvd., Smithfield, NC 27577, viewing from 12:00 noon until 1:00 pm.

Message: Mary (Pooh,Pooh) was a sweet person. She would sit and talk to me at Marie’s house about some things. She was glad to see me when I visited. She would say hey Syl how you doing? Enjoyed talking with her. She didn’t want me to go but I had to get back to Dunn. I told her I’ll be back soon. Pooh,Pooh treated me nicely every time she saw me. My condolences go out to the family especially Tony and Joe,Joe you've loss the best friend you could ever have. God will give you all the comfort and strength during this difficult time. Remember Rev21:3,4 And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain-be anymore.
