Mrs. Nezzie Mae Walden Sanders, age 90 of Smithfield, NC passed away July 9, 2016 at SECU Hospice House Smithfield, NC. Born in Johnston County to the late Joe and Bessie Birch Walden, Oct. 27, 1925. Mrs. Sanders was educated at Johnston County Training School, Smithfield, NC. Ms. Nezzie worked for years at Fieldcrest Mills where she retired.

Mrs. Sanders joined Mitchener Memorial Baptist Church at an early age and was a long time choir member and love to sing.

She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur Sanders Jr., two sons Edward Walden, Arthur Sanders Jr. on daughter Joelyn Sanders Holmes. She leaves to mourn her passing Mary Reed of Smithfield, NC, Leola Watson of Fayetteville, NC, Rochelle Atkinson (Larry) of Selma, NC, Mariette Geddie of Smithfield, NC and a host of grandchildren, nephews, nieces and other relatives. Mrs. Nezzie Walden Sanders is the last of her siblings.

Funeral services/viewing for Mrs. Sanders will take place on Saturday July 16, 2016 at St. Peter DOC Church 1011 E. Massey St. Smithfield, NC. Viewing and Visitation from 12 noon until 1:00pm, Celebration of Life begins at 1:00pm.
