Ms Rosa Marie Penny
Rosa Marie Penny, “Rea Rea”, was born November 26, 1946 to the late Rena Penny. She is a 1965 graduate of Cooper High School in Clayton, North Carolina. Rosa worked for over 20 years for the Wake County Public School system.
Rosa was a faithful woman who loved the Lord, her family and community.
Rosa leaves to cherish her memories a loving and devoted daughter, Tracey Penny, a wonderful sister, Glennie Boone (Carlton Jones), a beloved niece, Lawanda McCullers, a cherished nephew, Leon McCullers and numerous family and friends.
Viewing:
Friday July 28, 2023 at the Walter Sanders Funeral Home Chapel 302 S. Bright Leaf Blvd Smithfield, NC from 2:30 pm until 3:30 pm.

Message: To the family of my friend, Ms. Penny:
I want you to know that my thoughts and prayers will always be with you. Ms. Penny was a great friend and colleague to me. Her smile, wisdom, and advice was priceless. The work ethic she displayed was contagious to others. Even as she worked, she brought laughter and peace to me. I enjoyed our times of sharing our experiences in life as well as having conversations about our vacations, plans, and family.
It was obvious that she loved her devoted daughter, Tracy and niece, Lamanda. Ms. Penny introduced me to Lamanda, and she became my first hair stylist when I moved to Wake County. Ms. Penny loved her family and would do what she could for them.
Ms. Penny loved to hear about my family and especially my grandchildren. I would always share and show pictures of special events. Even after her retirement, we would talk on the phone. She was family to me and from time to my time, I would bring her vegetables sent from my mother. She would be so grateful and her smile would make my day.
I will miss her presence on Earth, but the encouragement I leave with everyone, to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Therefore, Tracy know you always did well by Ms. Penny. Continue to cherish the memories.
When the tears come today, tomorrow, in the upcoming months and years, do what I know Ms. Penny did: pray, read her bible, and daily devotion. Therefore, hold to God's unchanging hand.
Tracy, I wanted to be there today, however, I have cold symptoms and congested. Therefore, I will be watching the services from home. Please let me know if you need anything.

Message: It saddens me to know that I just conversated with you a couple of weeks ago & now you're gone. I cherish the memories of working with you for many years @ Oneida. Glennie opened her doors to me many years ago when she resided @ Austin Acres. For that I thank GOD & her. To the entire family & friends, I extend my deepest sympathy. Earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal. I surely do hope there's a Walmart in heaven.

Message: I was quite sadden to learn of the recent passing of my classmate Rosa Penny. As I reflect on our time together for 12 years in school; I'm reminded of what a sweet and gentle lady that she was. Rosa was someone that was always willing to listen to what you had to say but she could be quite resolute in sticking with her views about a particular matter. I left Clayton in 1965, returning periodically for visits of family and special events. I suppose the last time I saw her was the day that we graduated from Cooper High. I know the family will be protected and that God will see them through all of this. Peace be upon you all and may we live our lives in such a way that we will see Rosa in all of her glory in Heaven

Message: Oh how sad I am.God knows best that we all will have to pass some day but it's still hard to process. Re- Re you are and will always be my dear friend.
