Ms Sibyl Cordelia Sanders was born September 8, 1960 at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Smithfield, NC to the late David Leonard Sanders and Beulah Frances Mangum Sanders. She transitioned on Thursday, December 17th, 2020 at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill, NC.
Sibyl graduated with the "Class of 1979" from Smithfield-Selma High School in Smithfield, NC.
She was preceded in death by her father David Sanders, her twin sister Sylvia Cornelia Sanders, and sister Vanessa Bass.
Ms. Sybil Cordelia Sanders leaves to cherish her memories, mother Beulah Sanders of Smithfield, NC, two daughters; Arlisha Sanders of Clayton, NC ., Joanna Whitley of Raleigh, NC , one son; Ronald Atkinson Jr.(wife Rashonda) of Clayton, NC, two sisters; Cassandra Sanders of Woonsocket, RI, and Doris Smith of Brooklyn, NY, her most near and dear gifts to her heart seven grandchildren; Justin Hunter, Mahogany Whitley, Rontavion Hunter, Corey Hightower, Ronald Atkinson III, Jalen Atkinson, and Sydni Atkinson, aunts, nephews, nieces, a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
Walk Thru Viewing: Sunday December 27 in the Walter Sanders Funeral Home Chapel from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm. This is limited to 15 persons in the building at a time. Due to Covid-19 concerns Facial Coverings are required, along with social distancing must be observed.
Chapel Service: Monday December 28 in the Walter Sanders Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 am, this service will be limited to no more than 25 persons. Facial coverings are required.
