Horace ‘Lester’ Garrett, born July 21, 1945, entered intoeternal rest on Friday, November 23, 2018 at the SECU Hospice House inSmithfield, NC.


Lester is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Alene Garrett, 3 sons whom headored, Shawn Garrett, Chicago, IL, Curtis Garrett, & Jermaine Garrett,both of Bridgeport, CT, 2 stepdaughters; Alicia Reid, Waterbury, CT andMaSheila(Joseph) Gantt, Wichita, KS, sister, Juanita Garrett, Stratford, CT sister- in-law, Bettye Louise Garrett, Laurelton, NY a host ofgrandchildren, great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
He attended elementary school andgraduated from Stratford High School, served in the United States Air forcefrom 1965-1969, he graduated from the Bridgeport Police Academy and served for27 years before retiring as Detective of Youth Services. As a retired veteran,Lester and his wife relocated to their final home in Clayton, NC.

Lester was a faithful Christian and worshiper of God. He served as a Deacon at Pentecostal Church of Prayer and Deliverance in Bridgeport, CT under the watchful eye of Bishop Zebedee Stewart.Upon relocating to North Carolina, Lester joined Hickory Grove Disciples of Christ under Pastor Danny Robinson. Lester then followed the calling of God in 2014, joining, Pentecostal Church of Prayer For Such Times as This Ministry under the leadership of his wife and founder, Pastor Alene Garrett.

Burial will take place at Lakeview Cemetery 885 Boston Ave,Bridgeport, CT 06610
