The Walter Sanders Funeral Home regrets to inform you of the transition of Mr. David Lee Nixon, age 85 of Four Oaks, NC. Mr. Nixon passed quietly away at Rex Healthcare in Raleigh, NC on Wed. Nov. 2nd.

David enlisted in the Army in January of 1951 and was honorably discharged in January of 1954. On May 17, 1951 he married the love of his life, Maude Eldridge Nixon. To this union four children were born: Kenneth, Karen, Danny and Trina. He worked at Cherry Hospital and Burlington Industries until retirement. He was also a co-owner of J&S Used Appliances.

David Lee Nixon was born on December 24, 1930 to the late Isham G.W. Nixon and Dessie John Grantham Nixon in Four Oaks, NC. He was a sibling to Marion and Louise Cole (deceased), Clayvon and Judy Nixon (deceased), Edna Nixon Ray, Estella Nixon (deceased), Willie Nixon (deceased) (Olivia), Lillie Margaret Nixon Ward (Ezekial), E.C. Nixon (Eunice), and Mildred Nixon Lockett (David).

David is survived by his loving wife, Maude Nixon, son Kenneth Nixon (Linda), daughter Karen Nixon Morgan (Howard), son Danny Nixon (Kaye), and daughter Trina Nixon Neal (Brian), and a surrogate grandson Andre Nixon. He is also survived by a host of grandchildren, great grand-children and great-great grandchildren. He is blessed to leave 5 generations.

Eulogistic services for Mr. Nixon will be held Sunday Nov. 6, 2016 at Word of Faith Ministries Church 4658 Devils Racetrack Rd. Four Oaks, NC 27524. Viewing/Visitation will be from 1:00pm until 2:00pm followed immediately by a celebration of life at 2:00pm.
