Mrs. Betty Mae Hooks was born May 19, 1940 in Johnston County NC to Glen and Elizabeth Walden. Mrs. Hooks went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 2, 2016 while a resident at SECU Hospice House Smithfield, NC. She was preceded in death by her husband, C.J. Hooks, brothers William, Jimmy Walden and parents Elizabeth and Glen Walden. Betty attended Johnston County Public Schools, she was a homemaker and occasionally worked as a domestic and nurses aide.

Betty leaves to cherish her memory a loving son; Walter Walden (Sylvia), three grandchildren, Antonio, Phoebe, Michelle, four great grandchildren an aunt Dottie Sanders, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Graveside Services will be held Saturday November 5, 2016 at Sunset Memorial Gardens corner of US 70 west and NC210 Smithfield, NC beginning at 12 noon. Walk thru viewing will be at the Walter Sanders Funeral Home Chapel on Friday afternoon from 4:00pm until 7:00pm.
