Mr. Earnest Carnell Moore age 65 of Kenly, NC transitioned from labor to reward on Monday March 14, 2016 at UNC Johnston Health Smithfield, NC. Earnest was born on July 16, 1950 to the late Mark Sr. and Annie Moore in Pender County, NC.
He attended Pender County Schools and later moved to Brooklyn New York at an early age. He worked several jobs but was best known as a chef. In 1974 he met his wife of 45 years and became infamous for his kindness, generosity and commitment to his church. After moving back to NC he re-commited his commitment to Christ at Southern Grove Missionary Baptist Church. He was ordained as a Deacon of the church on February 14, 2016.
Earnest leaves to cherish his memory; his wife Jamie L. Moore, Seven children; Diana Hill, James Simms, Rochelle Jones, Edwana Bostic, Nancey Walker, Mechelle Simms, Johns Simms, two sisters; Ethel Moore, Cloretta Holmes, two brothers; Gene Moore, Harell Moore, four sister-in-laws, twenty three grandchildren, twenty seven great grand children and a host of niece, nephews and other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life will take place Sunday March 20th at Southern Grove Missionary Baptist Church 1058 Old Stancil Rd Kenly, NC. Viewing starts at 12:30 followed promptly by a celebration of life at 1:00 pm.
