Mr. Emmett Eugene Watson
Emmett Eugene Watson was born on September 30, 1950, to the late Leo and Ruby Watson. He was preceded in death by his brother LeArthur Watson, sister Jackie Reid; and son Brian Brown. Emmett was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. Family and the church meant a lot to him.
Emmett Watson was a graduate of the first class of Smithfield-Selma Senior High School (SSS) in 1970. He joined the armed forces and served his country in the Army. Mr. Ed Rabil helped him develop his talent for painting. He worked as a painter for the Johnston County School System until he decided to open his own paint company. He retired after forty years of painting locally and commercially.
Emmett Watson married to Pastor E. Marie Watson and was laughingly known as Mrs. Daisy’s Driver. He loved his family with his whole heart. His church Holy Temple Church of God of Selma was precious to him. He was an Ordained Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, Vacation Bible School Teacher and an Ordained Elder. He was a member of the American Legion in Smithfield, and the Johnston County Citizens Association. One of his really strong personalities was being a comedian. Everyone loved Emmett and he gave love in return.
He is survived by his wife Pastor E. Marie Watson, children, Tina Brown-Jimenez; Victor Badger; Leslie Howell; Eric Watson and one god-daughter Laura Pierce; two sisters: Cynthia Watson; and Gloria Atkinson (Ralph) Grandchildren: Zoe Jimenez; Brian Jimenez; Christian Allen-Brown; Cirria Coultur (Kourtney); Shakeya Howell; Tytrica Watson; Diamond Badger; Cameron Badger; Lylia Badger; Eddie Toler; Tacorreo Johnson; Shairric Surles; Nine great-grandchildren. Nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He will be missed but, God has everything in control. No more, pain, no more tears, and no more sickness.

Funeral Services:
Saturday July 8, 2023 at Shiloh Christian Church 211 Durham St Smithfield NC viewing starts at 11:00 am with funeral services starting at 12:00 noon. Facial coverings are required!
