Mr. Wallace Teen Godwin Jr.
Mr. Wallace Teen Godwin Jr., age 81 of Selma, NC passed away on Tuesday June 27, 2023 at UNC Johnston Health Smithfield, NC. Mr. Godwin was born August 10, 1941 and was the son of the late Wallace and Annabell King Godwin.
Wallace worked as a machine mechanic until his health began to decline. He also did work as a handyman. Mr. Godwin especially enjoyed fishing and would often take his family members with him. He loved his family, and friends. He attended Giles Chapel in Pine Level, NC and could be seen walking to church with his bible in hand.
He leaves to cherish his memories six children; Carolyn Godwin Shepherd, Maurice Godwin (Latasha), Allison Williams (Martice), Marlene Godwin, Horace Godwin and Tina Godwin, two sisters; Hazel Godwin, Carolyn Godwin, two brothers; Calvin Godwin, Robert Godwin, 17 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren a host of other relatives and friends.
Public Viewing:
Wednesday July 5, 2023 at the Walter Sanders Funeral Home Chapel 302 S. Bright Leaf Blvd Smithfield, NC from 2:00 pm until 7:00pm (family present from 6:00pm until 7:00pm).
Grave Side Services:
Thursday July 6, 2023 at Selma Memorial Gardens, 1350 S. Pollock St., Selma, NC 11:00am

You not being here is really tearing me up. A day that I thought would never come let alone this soon. But I know you are not suffering no more and your up there in heaven catching all the fish in your boat lol. You leave behind your contagious laugh and your love for life and God and family and always dancing every time one of your old schools song comes on. If I knew the last time I saw you would be the last time I would of hugged you a little longer and told you I love you a few more time. thanks for always being there for me throughout my life from the phone calls and randomly coming to see us (fish at the James river bridge) you are the best granddaddy we could ever ask for. if only I could hear " HELLO GRANDADUGTHER AND KIKI I LOOK GOOD WITH MY SOCKS AND SANDLES ON "one more time. I cherish ever memory we have had together and every time you showed up for something important in my life. I am forever grateful that you got to meet your great grandchild and be what you was to me to her. It feels weird and wrong putting RIP in front of your name so I'll just say fish in heaven granddaddy and check on me in my dreams from time to time and give grandma a kiss for me.
