Mr. John William Coons Jr.
Mr. John W Coons Jr., 59 of Benson NC and formerly Hudson, NY, passed away on June 1, 2024, at UNC Johnston Hospital in Smithfield, NC. John was born on July 31, 1964, to Theresa Harp (Cooper) and the late George W. Harp.
John graduated from Hudson High School in 1982, where he excelled in football and baseball. John was a sports fanatic and absolutely loved the Miami Dolphins and NY Mets. John was a former cub scout and volunteer fireman and enjoyed golfing on his spare time. He was employed by Tractor Supply Co in Dunn, NC
John absolutely loved his family. He was a dad, grandfather, brother, friend and loyal companion.
John is survived by his long-term partner Gail Brosen and her son Josh Brosen (Meredith Landen), Benson NC, his daughter Cristie Hoffman (Chris Hoffman), Stuyvesant Falls NY, his son Jeremy Coons, Hudson NY, his grandson Christopher Hoffman and granddaughters Gabriella Hoffman and Lahna Coons. John is also survived by his sisters Jill Coons (Mike Pfeil) Freehold, NY, Laurie Harp (Sheldon Walcott) Hudson, NY and brother Robert Coons, Hudson, NY. He was also the son (in common law) of Karen and Lauren Kreig, Churchtown NY. John leaves behind his canine companions, April and Cashew who will miss his prime rib and pork roast.
Memorial Services to be held later and will be announced by the family.
