Deacon Leonard Odell Artis
It is with heartfelt sympathy that we announce the passing of Mr. Leonard Odell "Bud" Artis, 74, of Smithfield. Mr. Artis was born in Wayne County, North Carolina to the late George and Rosa Artis. He departed this life peacefully on January 20, 2023 at The SECU Hospice House in Smithfield.
Mr. Artis was preceded in death by the love of his life, the late Mrs. Ida Artis and two brothers Samuel Bryant and Johnny Artis. Left to cherish warm memories are his children; Timothy, Decarius, Tonya, and Charlene; and siblings Lionel Artis, Esther Artis - Williams, Kenneth Artis, Connie Artis, Minnie Smalls, Rosa Faye Lee and Ronnie Artis.
Celebration of Life arrangements are as follows: There will be a public viewing from 2:00pm until 5:00pm on Friday, January 27, 2023 in the chapel of Walter Sanders Funeral and Cremation Services, 302 S. Brightleaf Blvd, Smithfield, NC 27577. Funeral services will be conducted at Shiloh Christian Church, 211 Durham Street, Smithfield NC on Saturday, January 28, 2023 with a visitation from 12 Noon until 1:00pm with the celebration of life beginning at 1:00pm. Services will be streamed from our Facebook page beginning at 12:55pm.
