Mrs. Betty H. Adams Christmas
With heartfelt sympathy, we announce the passing of Mrs. Betty Hooks Adams
Christmas. Mrs. Christmas was one of ten children and was born on April 26, 1941 to the late Ernest
and Celesta Adams. She departed this life Saturday, December 31, 2022 at WakeMed – Raleigh
Campus.
Mrs. Betty Christmas was a native of Johnston County and was educated at Short Journey
School. Thereafter, she married the late James C. Christmas. Mrs. Christmas worked in many
factory facilities over the years most notably, Oneida Inc. A woman of faith, she joined Galilee
Missionary Baptist Church in Smithfield, NC at an early age and remained a dedicated member
until her health would no longer allow her to attend.
Mrs. Christmas was preceded in death by siblings Ernest Earman Adams, L.J. Adams,
John Adams, Pearl Spells, Ernestine Hinton, Ruth Barnes, and Shirley Scott.
Mrs. Betty H. Christmas was truly a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, sister – in –
law, and mother -in-law who will truly be missed by all. Her legacy of love and precious
memories are left to be cherished by her daughter, Mrs. Helen Johnson (James) of Fuquay –
Varina; grandson, Christopher Johnson, also of Fuquay Varina; granddaughter, Kendra Johnson
of Los Angeles California; and two sisters Janie Wiggins and Pearline Crowder.

Funeral Services for the celebration of life for Mrs. Betty Adams Christmas will be held
Friday January 6, 2023 at the Walter Sanders Funeral & Cremation Services Chapel 302 S.
Bright Leaf Blvd., Smithfield, NC 27577 starting at 11:00 am. Services will stream on our Facebook page starting at 10:55 A.M.
