Mrs. Mary E. Chandler, age 76 of Smithfield, NC was born Dec. 2, 1938 in Wilson's Mills, NC. She was born to the late Lee and Cora Sanders who preceded her in death. Mary departed this life on February 2, 2015. Mary leaves to cherish her memories four sisters, Elouise Raynor, Rosa Vinson, Senora Torain, and Rebecca Sanders, Three brothers, James Sanders, Bernard Sapp, and Cornell Sanders, one uncle Jacob Sanders, and one aunt Jean Alston and a host of nieces, nephews , other relatives and friends. Mary also had had two lifelong friends Deborah Sounds and Gloria Hopkins.

The public will be allowed to visit with Mary and family on Sat. February 7th from 4:00pm until 7:00 pm in the Walter Sanders Funeral Home Chapel 302 S. Bright Leaf Blvd., Smithfield, NC. The homegoing ceremony honoring her life will be held Sun. February 8th at Interstate Ministries 4584 US Highway 70 Business West Clayton, NC beginning at 2:00pm. The body will lie in state from 1:00pm until 2:00pm at the church on Sunday.
