Mrs. Sharon Scales Brooker-Whitaker, age 64 of Smithfield, NC transitioned from earth to her heavenly home on Wednesday August 23rd at the Johnston Medical Center.

Mrs. Whitaker was born in the District of Columbia August 21, 1953 her parents were the late Bernard and Sallie Mae Ross. She was educated in the DC public schools and worked for the US Department of Education and retired after many years of faithful service.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories husband George H. Whitaker, three daughters; Lakisha Tyer, Lenora Scales, Sharon Scales, nine grandchildren, one borther; Kenneth Ross Sr., one sister; Margaret Ross-Smith, a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Arrangements are scheduled for Tuesday August 29, 2017 at Shiloh Christian Chuch, 211 Durham St Smithfield, NC. Viewing/visitation starts at 10:00am followed immediately by funeral services at 11:00am.
