Ms. Donna D. Landis
Ms. Donna Danielle Landis, 19, of Clayton, departed this life on June 5, 2023 at WakeMed – Raleigh Campus. She was the daughter of Tara and Richard Johnson.
Donna grew up in New Bern, NC and attended Cleveland High School in Clayton. She was well known through her employment at The Waffle House in Clayton, NC and was very close to families through friends.
In addition to her parents, Donna’s warm memory will be cherished by her siblings: Anthony Barnes, Shanice Barnes, Diajah Hickson, Mhyevin Hall, Deondre Johnson, Richard Johnston, Jr., Deamonte Johnson, and Christopher Johnson.
Public viewing and visitation will take place from 1:00pm to 5:00 pm on Sunday, June 11, 2023 at the Walter Sanders Funeral and Cremation Services Chapel, 302 S. Brightleaf Blvd., Smithfield, NC 27577. A celebration of life will be conducted on Monday, June 12, 2023 at Shiloh Christian Church, 211 Durham St., Smithfield, NC 27577 with viewing and visitation at 1:00pm and services beginning at 2:00pm. Facial Covierings are required.
Services will be streamed via the funeral home Facebook page.

You may be with our great father above now but you will always be remembered, by that giggle and the bright smile that you had that would light up in every room that you walked into. I miss you every day! Thank you for coming to see me in the hospital after surgery, I love you so much! I will definitely miss our random texts. I couldn’t get out of the rehab center in time, I’m sorry but you know I would have been one of the first to be there!
