Ms. Ebony Shearron Cole
Ebony S, Cole, 42 of Greensboro, North Carolina passed away peacefully at her residence.
She is survived by her mother, Shirley T. Cole. She is also the daughter of the late Leon Cole who preceded her in death.

Message: I will truly miss Ebony I met her at Ruby Tuesday and we became friends she became my favorite bartenderI would go visit her at work. I also would visit her at her apartment and going to eat Japanese for birthday I would text and call her she would make me laugh but she always said I made her laugh. She had a great house I was proud of her like hanging out with her and would send her drink idea and she would say when you come by I am going to make it for you and make something to eat she was a sweet loving person. I will miss her I pass Ruby Tuesday often so she will alone in my heart and my thoughts.

Message: I met Ebony years ago when I worked with her mother. Ebony and her mom would come to my second job and stop by and say hello. I have kept in contact with Ebony’s mother for many years after she retired and we have continued to keep in contact with each other at this present time. I was hurt by the shocking news that Ebony had passed away. Rest in Heaven Ebony.

It meant a lot to receive your call today. I was heartbroken to hear about the loss of your dear beautiful daughter, Ebony. There are no words to ease the pain you must be feeling, but please know that my heart goes out to you, and you are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
You were like one of my mom's away from home when I first started working at Durham Co DSS. I remember sneaking away and hiding out in your office when things got a little rough at work. Your door was always open, and I considered you to be a great role model, offering so much guidance, wisdom, and love. I can’t even begin to express how much your support has meant to me—whether it was through your thoughtful advice, the way you celebrated my wedding & the birth of my first child, or the countless ways you’ve poured into me personally and professionally. You have played a key role in shaping my career, and I am so thankful for everything you’ve done for me. I hope that I am to others what you have been to me.
In this time of sorrow, I pray that God wraps His arms around you, giving you peace and strength to carry on. While words can’t fill the void, know that you are loved and cherished, and I am here for you, now and always. You’ve touched so many lives, including mine, and I hope you can feel the love and support that surround you.

Message: There is so much I can say about Ebony. I am remembering the years we shared. She became my goddaughter as a young girl almost immediately. I decided to purchase two miniature Eskimo Spitz puppies and immediately she was in my home almost daily. I could not keep her away. Having a fenced yard, Ebony figured how to get in the yard to play with the dogs almost daily. They were house pets and loved being outside. Shirley would call and tell me to send Ebony home. It became an almost daily thing. Ebony took lots of pictures and would share them with me. My home became her home. We had several conversations about life especially when she went to college. I loved her dearly and we kept in touch as much as possible. Shirley and I would head to Greensboro to visit Ebony. Her parents went out of their way to make sure she had what she needed. They were great parents.
Now Ebony is with her dad in that heavenly place, united once again. I imagine they are watching Shirley and yet knowing how strong she is and her great faith in God. I send up prayers for Shirley and other parents having this time of grief and loss. Hang in there, Shirley! Thanks for sharing Ebony with me. She meant the world to me. I am here as needed and just a moment away. You have ministered to me during this time and my prayers are reaching Heaven to comfort and strengthen you...Love Gloria Fuller Jones

Message: Ebony was a bright light in everyone’s life. An amazing person with a contagious smile and laughter. She loved her cats dearly and had a passion for her favorite things like leopard print, coffee syrup (especially pumpkin spice), and healthy meal ideas. Through our many chats and the time we spent together, I saw the special bond she adored her mom. We enjoyed plenty of sunny days by the pool and relaxing on the porch in our apartment complex. Whether it was a nice weekend or a birthday party, we often came together to celebrate. She was kind-hearted and had a gentle spirit. We will miss her so much. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and her mom during this tough time. Rest in peace, sweet angel.
