Deacon Wilbert Junior Scarboro Sr.
Deacon Wilbert Junior Scarboro, Sr., age 79 was born May 14, 1945, in Johnston County, NC. He was the son of the late Luby and Martha Scarboro. Deacon Scarboro transitioned quietly away on Wednesday July 31, 2024, surrounded by family in his home.
Wilbert attended Richard B. Harrison High School, in Selma, NC. Most of his life he worked in transportation as a professional truck driver for Kemp Motors of Princeton, NC., and Forbes Trucking of Wilson, NC from which he retired. Wilbert also served the ministry of Temple of Praise Church Kenly, NC., as the Head Deacon for a number of years.
Deacon Scarboro was preceded in death by his granddaughter; Tyasia Scarboro, sister; Esther Donald Atkinson, brothers; Roosevelt Scarboro, James Scarboro and Robert Scarboro.
Deacon Wilbert J. Scarboro Sr., leaves loving memories to his wife of 53 years, Ida Staggers Scarboro of the home, children; Wilbert Scarboro Jr.(Tamika) of Wilson, NC., Reginald Scarboro, Sr., of Charlotte, NC., Kristy Scarboro-Padgett (Ronnie) of Selma, NC., Melvin Scarboro of Raleigh, NC., brothers; Thomas Donald (Pearlie) of Kenly, NC., Nathan Scarboro (Alice) of Queens, NY., Luther Scarboro of Virginia., Joseph Scarboro (Nora) of Selma, NC., Rodney Scarboro of Selma, NC., sisters; Carolyn McPhail (James) of Lawrenceville, GA., Mamie Bass of Albany, NY., 21 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
