Tosha Deris Vinson, was born on January 20, 1971 in Brooklyn, New York. She resided in Durham, North Carolina and was widely known as a fun-loving person, who was an avid Duke fan and an amazing cook. She was also known for harboring the youth, taking young adults into her home during their own personal struggles and growth. She is the mother of four and she was enormously proud of the children she raised as a single mother; her eldest son Walter (25), son Jeffrey (21), and twin daughters Neveah and Octavia (16). Tosha meant so much to the people in her life. She collected friends from far and wide and made many family connections with distant relatives.

On December 8, 2020, Tosha departed this life but she left behind a legacy that will keep her spirit alive for many years to come.

Tosha will be remembered as the “life of the party” because whenever she walked into a room, that’s what it became, a party. Joy, laughter, and happiness was what she was all about. She will also be remembered as a wonderful mother to her four children whom she cherished the most.

Private Graveside services will be held Tuesday December 15, 2020 at Sanders Grove Missionary Baptist Church 6989 NC Hwy 210 West Smithfield, NC 11:00 am. There will be a limit of 30 persons and everyone in attendance must wear facial coverings to protect yourself and others, social distancing will be required as well. Services will stream live on our Facebook page starting at 10:55 am.
