Veleka Lynette Anderson Bowden age 45 passed quietly away on Mon July 24 at her residence surrounded by family. Veleka was born June 25, 1972 to Barbara Anderson and Maurice Wiggins in Smithfield, NC. Veleka attended and graduated from the Johnston County Public School System Smithfield-Selma Senior High School.
Veleka worked at Smithfield Packing and received training as a CNA at Home Health Care of Selma. In addition to being certified as a CNA she volunteered at the Red Cross and trained to be a Phlebotomist.
Veleka is survived by her husband Phillip Bowden, mother Barbara Eason (Michael), father Maurice Wiggins, sons Maurice Anderson, Derrel Anderson, three brothers; Michael Eason, Timothy Eason, Joseph Eason, two sisters; Kimberly Eason, Melissa Tate and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services for Mrs. Bowden are scheduled for Sunday July 30, 2017 at Wilson Mills Baptist Church. Viewing will begin at 1:00 pm followed by funeral services at 2:00pm.
